Several injured in multi-car accident with DMPD SUV
A police officer and several individuals sustained injuries in a multiple-vehicle accident in Des Moines, Iowa. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when a Toyota Corolla lost control while attempting to pass another vehicle on Merle Hay Road. The Corolla crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a police patrol car and a Toyota Tundra. The sergeant in the patrol car and a juvenile passenger in the Tundra were treated for minor injuries at the scene. The Corolla driver, a 34-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. The Des Moines Police Department is conducting an investigation, and it is anticipated that traffic-related charges will be filed.
