Serious accident with ambulance closes portion of I-464 in Chesapeake
Part of I-464 in Chesapeake was closed at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday due to a fatal crash being investigated by the Virginia State Police. The southbound section of the interstate at Military Hwy and the entrance ramps to I-464 were blocked off. A detour was in place at Freeman Ave. A car driving in the wrong direction on the southbound lanes collided with a private ambulance near exit 2 around 2:30 a.m. The state police were still determining the identity of the deceased individual involved in the crash. Police officers and the crash reconstruction team were present at the scene.
