Semi-truck driver charged with Intoxication manslaughter for fatal crash in Taylor County

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A semi-truck driver was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter after a fatal crash in Taylor County Tuesday evening. Miguel Angel Casanova, 68, was booked into Taylor County Jail for Intoxication Manslaughter following the fatal crash on Highway 351 and CR 504 that killed Adam Lee Reyna, 26, of Mission, Texas just before 5:00 p.m., according to a crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety. The crash report states Casanova was driving a semi-truck pulling a trailer west down CR 504 when he failed to yield to Reyna's pickup at stop sign, causing a collision. Reyna's pickup then caught fire and was destroyed, killing him upon impact, according to the crash report. The report states Casanova, who suffered only minor injuries, "was intoxicated due to an overdose of medication and was arrested for intoxication manslaughter following treatment at Hendrick North Emergency Care facility." He now remains held in the Taylor County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
