Major Injury Collision Involving Semi and BMW Closes Lanes on Southbound SR-99 Near Oswald SUTTER COUNTY, CA – (April 15, 2025) — A semi-truck and a dark blue BMW were involved in a crash early Tuesday on southbound Highway 99, south of Oswald Road in Yuba City. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) began receiving reports of the crash at approximately 5:29 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15th. Initial reports stated a semi-truck collided with the BMW, with the semi coming to rest in the center lane. The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) and emergency crews were sent to the scene. By 5:52 a.m., CHP confirmed that the incident had been upgraded to a major injury collision. Paramedics responded to transport at least one person to a hospital, but there are no further details on the injured. The BMW wound up approximately 30 feet off the roadway in a ditch, with significant rear axle damage. Investigators with the CHP are heading up the investigation into the cause of the collision.
