Section of Roosevelt Boulevard shut down in Philadelphia following deadly accident, according to authorities.
Police have reported a fatal crash that occurred early Friday morning on Roosevelt Boulevard in North Philadelphia's Hunting Park section. The incident, which police believe took place around 3:30 a.m. under the Broad Street overpass, resulted in the death of one person and multiple injuries. According to Philadelphia police Chief Inspector Scott Small, the collision occurred after a man, driving in the northbound lanes, exited his vehicle for unknown reasons, crossed over the central barrier, and was struck by a car in the southbound lanes. The victim, a 56-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Several other individuals sustained injuries from the crash as well.
