Search for vehicle in deadly pedestrian accident in St. Landry Parish
Authorities in Opelousas, Louisiana, are currently looking for a vehicle involved in a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. The incident, which occurred around 2 a.m. on U.S. Highway 167 near Flamingo Road, claimed the life of Chrystal Thevis, a 42-year-old Opelousas resident. Initial findings suggest that a 2011 Toyota 4Runner struck Thevis as she was walking in the roadway. Sadly, she was then hit by another vehicle that fled the scene and remains unidentified. While the driver of the 4Runner was unharmed and cooperated with authorities, the investigation is ongoing.
