San Jose woman killed in hit-and-run crash early Friday
(KRON) -- A 63-year-old San Jose woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on an Interstate 680 offramp overnight Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities are investigating the fatal collision as a hit-and-run. CHP and medical personnel responded to the pedestrian-involved collision at 12:29 a.m. on the offramp leading from northbound I-680 to Alum Rock Avenue. The victim was found on the roadway, and medics determined her injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle, CHP said. The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Witnesses to the fatal collision or anyone with information are asked to contact the CHP San Jose Area Office at 408-961-0900.
