Sacramento riders honor teens killed in car crash with memorial ride
Two teenagers, Ariyonna and Piper, were killed in a car crash on Sunday, prompting the Sacramento community to come together for a memorial ride organized by the Royal Riders Group. Fei Lin, who said Ariyonna was like a daughter to him, shared his heartbreak over her loss. "When I talked to her I said who's this and she said 'hi dad it's your favorite.' That's the last time I talked to her," Lin said. Lin described the close bond he shared with Ariyonna. "We got so close she's like one of the family members, our home's her second home," he said. Lin said learning about the crash devastated him. "I was dying, instantly just went down. I just talked to her the night before," Lin said. As the sun set, candles were lit, and riders arrived to pay tribute to the victims. Thomas Seymour, co-founder of the Royal Riders Group, explained the significance of the memorial ride. "We are actually doing a memorial ride for a fellow rider of ours. It's his close family member and we support ourselves in the good times and the bad times and unfortunately, this is one of the bad ones," Seymour said. The Royal Riders Group, joined by dozens of others, rode in memory of the victims. "We're here to support our brother, and just the community is sad about what happened You know, young girls died. It's horrible," said Raj Kumar, co-founder of the Royal Riders Group. Dylan Seymour, who participated in the ride, shared his reason for joining his dad. "We do it for riders when they're in need and I thought, you know what? I should go because of a rider in need," Seymour said. As the riders departed, they left behind a message urging caution on the roads. "Kids, be careful out there when you're driving. If you got a fast car, try to take it easy and, you know, pay attention," Kumar said. The Royal Riders Group said they organize rides like this as often as possible, sometimes as fundraisers to support those in need.See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app | Subscribe to our morning newsletter | Find us on YouTube here and subscribe to our channel
