Route 86 crash under investigation

NORTH ELBA | Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Route 86 Thursday morning. New York State Police said the accident happened at about 8:45 a.m. when a white 2019 Mazda, operated by Kimberly B. Hartman, 30, of Saranac Lake, was traveling eastbound on Route 86 when she reportedly failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the westbound lane. Police said Hartman crashed into a 2021 GMC operated by Jack A. Moody, 68, of Tupper Lake. Both Hartman and a passenger in Moody's vehicle, Angela L. Moody, 47, of Tupper Lake, were transported to Adirondack Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
