Route 32 crash in Columbia kills motorcycle rider
Howard County police are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle in Columbia Wednesday night.According to police, the driver of a 2024 Suzuki GSX1300 was traveling eastbound on Route 32 when the driver attempted to pass a transit bus that was also traveling eastbound between Route 29 and Shaker Drive. The motorcycle then collided with the bus and lost control.The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the bus driver remained on the scene and was not injured.Investigators believe speed was a factor in the collision. The incident is under investigation.The crash caused Route 32 eastbound to be closed for four and a half hours overnight, police said.
