
Route 1 partially shut down due to semi-truck collision
The Edgar County Sheriff's Department has advised motorists to steer clear of Route 1 north of Paris, Illinois, due to a recent accident that occurred early Friday morning. Paris Fire Department's Chief Zack Janis reported that a collision involving a car and a semi took place just before 7 a.m. Chief Janis noted that the car sustained significant damage, prompting the driver to be airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the semi was also transported by ambulance for injuries. Alternate routes have been set up at Horace Brocton Road and 1600th Road by the sheriffs.
