Response to Muir Valley climbing accident by Wolfe County Search and Rescue
The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team had a hectic beginning to the weekend at Muir Valley, as they are currently assisting the Adaptive Climbers Festival for the next few days. They are using their UTV to shuttle participants to various climbing spots in the area. Amidst their festival support, the team also sprang into action this morning to attend to a separate climbing incident. In this case, a climber experienced a dislocated shoulder and required immediate medical aid. Fortunately, four team members, who also have expertise as wilderness first responders, promptly cared for the climber. Happily, the climber is now recovering well and is eager to resume their climbing activities.
