Regional: 1 Dead, 1 Injured In Collision On San Mateo-Hayward Bridge
One man was killed and another was injured when their vehicles collided on the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge early Saturday, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash occurred about 1:10 a.m. east of the high-rise span of the bridge, which carries state Highway 92. A man driving a Cadillac was killed, said Officer Sophie Lu, a spokeswoman for the highway patrol in Redwood City. A man driving an Acura was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley with major injuries, she said. Both men were alone in their vehicles, she said.
