Rand Road reopens after head-on crash in Wake County south of Garner
GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) -- A road in southern Wake County is closed Tuesday evening after a major head-on crash just two days after a rollover crash on the same road south of Garner. The head-on crash was reported around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday along Rand Road near Lakeshore Drive, a few blocks north of Ten Ten Road. The Tuesday wreck comes after a Rand Road two-car rollover crash on Sunday at Ponderosa Road. The head-on crash involved an SUV and a sedan. Around 7 p.m., crews were trying to remove a person who was pinned in the car. Rand Road, back open by 10 p.m., is a key road between Ten Ten Road and Benson Road. The Sunday afternoon crash involved a pickup truck and an SUV. The pickup truck flipped in the crash. There is no word about the severity of injuries in the Tuesday crash. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating.
