Quick-thinking bystanders save driver from car fire on Sacramento highway

The California Highway Patrol was called to a vehicle fire on Westbound Highway 50 near Zinfandel Drive, where a male driver was taken to the hospital after what appeared to be a medical episode. The driver's car hit the center divider wall and came to a stop, blocking two lanes. Thankfully, two passersby came to the driver's aid, pulling him out just before the car burst into flames. Traffic was halted, and firefighters extinguished the fire with the help of other agencies. The driver was then taken to the hospital for treatment. Despite reports of vehicles trying to travel in the wrong direction on the closed highway, officers found no evidence of such activity. Eventually, all lanes were reopened after the incident was resolved.
