Police: Stolen SUV crashes into Mill Creek after Winton Hills police chase
A short police chase in Winton Hills ended in Mill Creek after the driver of a stolen vehicle tried to cross a railroad bridge and drove off an embankment, according to the Cincinnati Police Department. Cincinnati police said there were passengers in the vehicle. They were taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. The incident began just before 10 p.m. Tuesday near Center Hill and Este avenues. Cincinnati police said officers began pursuing an SUV connected to an aggravated robbery that occurred earlier on Tuesday. The driver took off and attempted to cross a railroad bridge before crashing over an embankment into Mill Creek. WLWT crews captured images of the stolen, mangled vehicle being taken away by a tow truck early Wednesday morning. The incident prompted a large emergency response that lasted hours as first responders worked to reach the vehicle and the people inside. Police said charges are expected against the people involved.
