Police probe shooting and car collision in East Hills

Police in Pittsburgh are looking into a shooting incident that resulted in a car crashing into a utility pole and catching fire in East Hills on Friday evening. Authorities responded to the scene on Crestline Street after receiving alerts from ShotSpotter of eight rounds being fired. Initial findings suggest that two vehicles were involved in a gun battle while traveling south on Crestline Street. The white sedan involved in the incident later smashed into a utility pole on Coal Street in Wilkinsburg, causing it to catch fire. A male driver sustained a gunshot wound to the hip and was taken to the hospital, while a female passenger also received medical attention. The second vehicle fled the scene. Fortunately, no other property damage was reported. The Mobile Crime Unit was called to the scene for evidence collection as detectives continue their investigation.
