Police determine individuals involved in deadly collision; inquiry continues

Cahokia Heights police reported responding to an armed robbery and shots fired on Cahokia Street around 12:15 p.m. When officers attempted to stop a GMC Truck matching the suspect's description, the vehicle fled and collided with a tractor-trailer, igniting in flames soon after. According to friends, Dean Walthes was believed to be driving the truck. The owner of the vehicle was also identified as Walthes. The investigation involving Cahokia Heights Police, Illinois State Police, and Accident Reconstruction teams is ongoing.
