Person dies following car crash near Battle Creek
EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man died following a car crash just before midnight on Tuesday near Battle Creek. Emmett Township Public Safety said in a Facebook post that it happened on Beadle Lake Road near B Drive North. Responding crews discovered a car off the road and in a swampy area. Deputies say the vehicle crashed into a high-pressure gas line, causing a natural gas leak in the area. The driver was ejected from the car. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
