Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle on Mass. Pike in Ludlow
LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Mass. Pike in Ludlow Monday afternoon. Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Gregory Jones told 22News that troopers were called at around 12:30 p.m. to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle while crossing I-90 East in Ludlow at the 54-mile marker. State police confirm that the victim was taken to the hospital but has since passed away due to their injuries. Their identity has not yet been released. During the incident, the westbound side of I-90 and one lane on the eastbound side were closed for about half an hour. One lane on both sides remains closed. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible. The investigation is being conducted by Hamden State Police Detectives, Collision Analysis Reconstruction, Crime Scene Services Section, and Ludlow Fire/EMS.
