Passenger dies after being ejected from motorcycle in Marcellus
MARCELLUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) —Two people were ejected from a motorcycle in Marcellus that killed one person and injured another Sunday afternoon. New York State Police Trooper Jennifer Jiron said in a statement that at around 10:10 a.m., authorities went out to the intersection of U.S. Route 20 and Slate Hill Road following reports of a serious personal injury crash. After investigating, State Police determined that a Subaru driven by 18-year-old Morgan Heise stopped at the intersection, but failed to yield to a motorcycle traveling eastbound. The two vehicles then collided, according to Jiron. The 55-year-old male driver and the 55-year-old female passenger were both thrown from the vehicle and taken to Upstate University Hospital. The female victim was later pronounced dead, while the man remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Jiron said. Heise also sustained no injuries. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
