Passenger dead, two hospitalized after Porsche rear-ends other car on highway
A passenger was killed, and two other passengers were sent to the hospital after a car accident on Highway 15 on Sunday. CHP responded to a car accident on Highway 15 just south of Harvard Road a bit after noon. According to the investigation, a 2024 Porsche and a 2024 Honda were both headed north on the highway approaching traffic. The Porsche was directly behind the Honda, and for reasons still under investigation, the Porsche driver failed to reduce speed and hit the rear of the Honda. The Honda had at least three people inside, one of them being a child. 66-year-old Elvira Nemenzo was riding in the back of the Honda and was reported to have died at the scene. The child and other passengers were sent to the hospital for major injuries. DUI was not initially suspected in the crash.
