Part of I-65 northbound closed near Whitestown
BOONE COUNTY, Ind. -- A crash closed part of I-65 in Boone County. According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. on northbound I-65 near Whitestown. An alert indicated the crash involved two semis. Two right lanes were initially closed, according to the sheriff's office. By 6:20 a.m., officials had shut down all lanes, citing the crash and "fire activity" in the area. The left lane reopened about ten minutes later, allowing some traffic to slowly move through. Whitestown police said the crash involved minor injuries and a fuel spill. INDOT cameras showed multiple emergency vehicles on the scene and a significant traffic backup. The crash remains under investigation.
