[Watch in the player above: What to do if you witness a crash] PARMA, Ohio (WJW) -- An 89-year-old Parma woman was killed Sunday, April 12, when her motorized wheelchair rolled into the path of an oncoming car, according to witnesses. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office on Monday, April 13, identified the woman as 89-year-old Ann Socolovitch of Parma. The crash happened just after 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ridge Road and Powers Boulevard in Parma, according to police. That's right by University Hospitals Parma Medical Center. Parma firefighters transported the woman to a Cleveland hospital with "possible life-threatening injuries", said Parma police Sgt. Scott Traxler. The woman at the time was "alert and stable," he said. Police later that evening reported the woman died due to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle stopped and stayed at the scene, and was "very shaken up," Traxler said. He was found to be not at fault for the crash. Witnesses told police the woman's wheelchair entered the intersection against the traffic signal. Another driver's dashboard camera corroborated their claims, Traxler said.
