Pa. man charged after high-speed chase ends in rollover crash, police say
A man was charged after a high-speed chase ended in a rollover crash in Cumberland County, according to the Upper Allen Township Police Department. Investigators said police noticed a vehicle speeding on Route 15 southbound around 12:55 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver accelerated and turned off the vehicle's headlights, according to police. Authorities said the suspect attempted to exit onto Cumberland Parkway but lost control and flipped into the opposing lane, landing on its roof in a wooded area. Police identified the driver as 20-year-old Alexander Gish of Mechanicsburg. Investigators said Gish fled into the woods after the crash. Officers later found him, and he was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to police.
