Oregon man dead, 2 others seriously injured after head-on collision

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man died, and two other people were seriously injured in a head-on crash on Highway 126 on Sunday, Oregon State Police said. The crash took place just after 1 p.m. near milepost 107 in Deschutes County. According to investigators, 63-year-old Lee Bernard was driving east on the freeway near Redmond when his Chevy Silverado crossed into the west lane for an unknown reason, striking a westbound Subaru Outback head-on. Bernard was declared dead at the scene. The passenger of the Chevy, as well as the driver of the Subaru, were hospitalized with serious injuries, OSP said.
