One person killed in accident on U.S. 50 in Knox County
KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person was killed in a crash at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Anson Road, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office. The Knox County Sheriff's Office said the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The accident involved a "tri-axle dump truck" and a pickup truck. The crash closed the westbound lanes of U.S. 50. According to the Indiana State Police, a second crash in the area also closed one of the eastbound lanes of U.S. 50. Officials said the accident caused a vehicle to rollover on its side after colliding with another car. Only minor injuries were reported in that accident. At 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Knox County Emergency Manager John Streeter said emergency responders are actively working in the area, and traffic delays should be expected. "This closure has been implemented by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, with coordination through Knox County Central Dispatch, and is expected to remain in place for approximately four hours," said Streeter in a social media post. This is a developing story.
