One person dead after crash on Haverhill Road in Salem
On Thursday at around 7:44 p.m., the Salem Police Department received a 911 call reporting a crash with injury in the area of 112 Haverhill Road. Upon arrival, first responders located a crash between a motorcycle and a pickup truck. Lifesaving measures were attempted on the operator of the motorcycle by nearby witnesses and first responders; however, the operator of the motorcycle was declared deceased at the scene. Haverhill Road was closed while the Salem Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the accident. A 2024 motorcycle operated by Steven White, of Derry, New Hampshire, was traveling northbound on Haverhill Road when he collided with a Dodge pickup truck operated by a 17-year-old driver from Salem, New Hampshire. The pickup truck had been traveling southbound and was turning left into a driveway when the collision occurred. This incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the lead CAR investigator, Detective Nicholas Powden, at the Salem Police Department.
