One killed, three injured in Jones County crash
JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) - One man was killed and three people, including a baby, were injured during a two-vehicle crash in Jones County. The crash occurred on U.S. 11 around 6:15 p.m. on February 6, 2026. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), a 2019 Lincoln MKC was traveling south on the highway when it collided with a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling north on U.S. 11. Troopers said the driver of the Lincoln MKC, 82-year-old Douglas J. Pertuit, of Louin, died at the scene. The three occupants of the Chevrolet Tahoe, which included the baby, were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
