One dead after crash on southbound I-15 near Midvale
MIDVALE, Utah (ABC4) — One is deceased after a crash on southbound I-15 near 8300 South in Midvale. Additionally, multiple lanes are closed. According to Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), the crash involved a box truck and a passenger car. The driver of the passenger car ran into the back of the box truck and sustained significant injuries. Unfortunately, the driver of the passenger car was pronounced deceased on scene. At this time, UHP has not disclosed their identity. Additionally, they say they are still investigating the crash and working to determine what happened during the crash. Currently, the two right lanes and right shoulder are blocked south of 7200 South. Initial estimates stated that the lanes should reopen around 2:08 p.m. However, they are still closed as of 2:45 p.m. Drivers should expect significant delays in the area. There are no further details at this time.
