Officers investigating fatal crash in Roswell
Roswell police are currently investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a car. Police say the accident occurred at about 7:50 p.m. on North Main Street at the intersection of Blue Mountain Road in north Roswell. Information from RPD's traffic investigation indicates that the motorcyclist was traveling north on Main Street at a high rate of speed when it clipped the rear of a car that had exited the parking lot on the east side of Main Street and was crossing the northbound lanes of Main and entering the southbound lanes.The collision caused the car to spin and the motorcyclist to be ejected from the motorcycle, which continued north and struck a second car. The motorcyclist, Xavier Lujan, 23, of Roswell, was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the two cars were not injured. The accident caused that section of Main Street to be closed to traffic until about 3 a.m.The accident remains under investigation.
