NTSB releases report on deadly Eden crash that killed 4 linemen

The public can now view the National Transportation Safety Board's report on the deadly 2025 crash that killed four linemen in Eden.The agency shared a docket detailing its investigation. On April 24, 2025, a City of Eden dump truck driver went through a Road Closed sign at the intersection of Howe and Carroll Streets and struck a group of linemen working in the road. Four people were killed, and two others were badly hurt.The driver, Michael Vernon, 66, was also injured in the crash. Officials said Vernon had been on seizure medication for nearly 30 years and had a seizure less than a month before the crash.
