NTSB holds 3-day inquiry into fatal DC aircraft accident.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is holding a three-day hearing on the tragic plane crash that occurred in Washington, D.C. in January, resulting in the loss of 67 lives. A mispositioned antenna led to military controllers losing touch with a Black Hawk helicopter near DCA as reported. The NTSB is set to examine the actions of the Federal Aviation Administration, air traffic controllers, and the Army, though it is premature to determine the exact cause of the crash. Typically, air traffic control for helicopters and planes at Reagan National Airport is managed by two operators, but on the day of the incident, only one controller was on duty after a supervisor allowed one to leave early.
