Norton Shores PD: Crash knocks out power, closes intersection
NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — An intersection in Norton Shores will be closed until Friday morning, police say, due to low-hanging wires and traffic lights following a crash. Officials did not specify what happened, but an advisory from the Norton Shores Police Department said it was a "traffic accident" that caused low-hanging wires and traffic lights at the intersection of Henry Street and W. Norton Avenue Thursday night. The intersection will stay closed until the morning, police said. “Expect significant traffic delays in this area during the morning commute,” the Norton Shores Police Department wrote in the advisory around 10 p.m. Power was out in the area for hours, affecting about 1,500 customers, according to the Consumers Energy map. By early Friday morning, power had been restored.
