North Charleston police investigate fatal single-vehicle crash on I-526 westbound
One person was killed in a fatal single-vehicle collision on I-526 westbound on Saturday, according to the North Charleston Police Department. The report on the incident states that on July 11 at approximately 7:07 p.m., officers responded to the area of I-526 westbound and Paramount Drive in response to a call regarding a single-vehicle collision. Upon arrival on scene officers observed a vehicle that had reportedly left the roadway and struck a cable barrier. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other vehicles were identified as being involved in the incident. The collision however remains under active investigation with the North Charleston Police Department and the Charleston County Coroner's Office.
