New Castle police investigate fatal crash involving e-bike, patrol car
NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) - The New Castle Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving an e-bike and a marked patrol vehicle. At approximately 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, officers were sent to the intersection of S. Walnut Street and County Line Street for a crash involving an e-bike and a Butler County Sheriff's vehicle. The operator of the e-bike, identified as 25-year-old Jaycob Heasley, was found unresponsive at the scene. He was transported to UPMC Jameson, where he was later pronounced deceased. The Pennsylvania State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialists Unit conducted a collision reconstruction investigation in coordination with New Castle police. The crash remains under investigation.
