NCPD arrests driver following deadly crash on Aviation Ave. Thursday night
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The North Charleston Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred late Thursday evening between Midland Park Rd. and Aviation Ave. According to NCPD, officers were dispatched around 10:20 p.m. after receiving a call about a collision on S. Aviation Ave. Crews responded to a two-vehicle crash, with one vehicle overturned in a ditch. The driver and sole occupant of the overturned vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, NCPD says. The other vehicle driver, Andres Gomez Perez, 26, of North Charleston, sustained minor injuries and was arrested for driving without a valid driver's license. Perez was taken to the Al Canon Detention Center. This investigation, led by the Traffic Unit and the Charleston County Coroner's Office, is still ongoing.
