Multi-car accident closes I-74 in Champaign Co. for hours.
A collision between a semi-truck and two other vehicles in Champaign County led to a prolonged closure of I-74 early Wednesday morning. The accident, reported around 4:15 a.m. on Oct. 29, near milepost 176 on the westbound side of I-74 just west of I-57, required the response of Illinois State Police Troop 7. The crash necessitated the blocking of both westbound lanes for about three hours until around 8:20 a.m. when they were reopened. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and there is no additional information available at this time.
