MSP: Multiple injuries after I-96 Ionia County crash
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Multiple people were injured after a crash involving a semi-truck and three cars in a construction zone on I-96 headed eastbound near Lake Odessa Friday evening, state police say. The crash happened at around 6 p.m., according to Michigan State Police. A semi-truck failed to yield, causing a “chain reaction collision,” police said. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening and I-96 was reopened at around 7:30 p.m., according to MSP. “This crash serves as another reminder of the importance of staying alert and focused while driving through construction zones. Reduced speeds, changing traffic patterns, and workers operating near active traffic require every driver's full attention,” MSP wrote in a social media post after the crash.
