
Motorcyclist injured in fiery highway crash
WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a motorcyclist was injured in a fiery highway crash Wednesday evening. 12 News spotted the crash on I-95 South near Exit 31B in Warwick, where a motorcycle was on fire in the breakdown lane. It appears the rider was thrown from the motorcycle several feet away from where the bike skidded to a stop and caught fire. The motorcyclist was brought to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Witnesses told 12 News only one other vehicle was involved in the crash. It took firefighters roughly an hour to knock down the flames and remove the motorcycle's remains from the highway. It's unclear whether anyone else was injured in the crash. The exact cause of the crash remains unknown at this time. 12 News has reached out to Rhode Island State Police for more information but has not yet heard back.
