Mississippi teenager killed in collision with semi-truck
WAYNE COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) - A 17-year-old was killed during a two-vehicle crash in Wayne County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP). The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 45 around 3:00 p.m. on June 22, 2026. Troopers said a 2009 Nissan Murano, driven by a 17-year-old female from Richton, was traveling north on the highway when it collided with a 2023 Freightliner semi-truck that was traveling south on the highway. According to MHP, the 17-year-old received fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
