[1] Four killed in medical aircraft crash near Capitan; crews work to extinguish wildfire - Four people have died, and a fire ignited after a medical transport aircraft crashed in the Capitan Mountain area in Lincoln County on Thursday morning. A plane took off from Roswell for a medical transport mission and was headed to the Sierra Blanca Regional Airport when communication and radar contact were lost. The Kids’ Chance of New Mexico, a non-profit, awarded nearly $300,000 in scholarships. The charity supports children and students whose parents were critically injured or killed in a workplace accident. The scholarships ranged between $10,000 and $75,000, and will go toward the student’s tuition at the college they attend.
