Man killed, woman injured in side-by-side crash in Nicholas County, deputies say
A man was killed and a woman was injured in a side-by-side crash overnight in Nicholas County, deputies said. Steven E. Parsons, 50, of Mt. Nebo was killed after his side-by-side left the road and struck an embankment along Old Nicholas Road about 12:30 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said Parsons and an adult female passenger, 63-year-old Dawnett Reba Bowman, were both ejected from the UTV as a result of the crash. Both were taken to a local hospital where Parsons died from his injuries. No information was provided on Bowman's condition or the extent of her injuries, but the news release said she remains hospitalized. The sheriff’s office said the incident remains under investigation. No other details were provided.
