Man killed in Wedgewood-Houston crash, Metro police say
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person has died following a single-vehicle crash in Wedgewood-Houston on Monday afternoon, the Metro Nashville Police Department has announced. According to the MNPD, a 22-year-old man—identified as Zander Jeffcoat of Gilbert, South Carolina—died after the crash. Police said Jeffcoat was driving a BMW X3 on 8th Avenue South at Wedgewood Avenue when the crash happened at 3 p.m. Monday, June 1. The BMW X3 was traveling north when it left the roadway and hit a light post. Jeffcoat was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died, officials said. According to the MNPD, the Medical Examiner's Office will conduct toxicology testing to determine whether impairment affected this incident.
