Man killed in solo Highway 99 crash after car veers off road and hits tree

A man was killed in a car accident after veering off Highway 99 and crashing into a tree on Sunday night. CHP officers responded to a solo car accident on Highway 99 at around 11:15 p.m. According to the investigation, a 32-year-old man was driving a black Mitsubishi Lancer southbound at an undetermined speed. For reasons still under investigation, the car veered off the roadway onto the west shoulder and traveled up an embankment. The car began to roll, and the driver's side hit a large tree, causing fatal injuries. The car then overturned and came to rest on its roof.
