Man killed in hit-and-run crash on Southwest Side

CHICAGO — An investigation is underway on Wednesday morning after a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the city's Southwest Side overnight. A hit-and-run crash on the city's Southwest Side left a man dead overnight, police say. According to Chicago police, the crash unfolded just after 11 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Pulaski Road, in West Lawn. Officers said the victim, a 53-year-old man, was walking in the street near the sidewalk in the area when he was struck by an orange Honda SUV that was headed north along Pulaski. Following the crash, the driver of the Honda continued driving north along Pulaski. The victim was later taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not identified the victim killed, and a search for the driver involved is underway.
