Man from Troy accused in deadly Brunswick collision in 2024

A Troy man was arrested by New York State Police in connection to a fatal car crash in Brunswick. Waylon Phillips, 32, was charged with criminally negligent homicide for his involvement in the incident that occurred in 2024. The crash took place on Tamarac Road in Brunswick, resulting in the death of Richard Turner and serious injuries to Phillips. Investigations revealed that Phillips was allegedly driving at twice the posted speed limit before colliding with Turner's vehicle. Phillips turned himself in to State Police and was subsequently arraigned at Brunswick Town Court. He was then released under the Rensselaer County Probation Department's supervision pending further legal proceedings.
