Man dies in bicycle accident at Comlara Park
A 57-year-old bicyclist, identified as Shawn Anderson of Normal, was tragically found deceased beside his bike on a trail in Comlara Park. McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder reported that an autopsy revealed Anderson passed away due to cervical spinal injuries sustained from a bike accident. Anderson worked as an 8th-grade teacher at Kingsley Junior High School in McLean County Unit 5, according to district spokesperson Dayna Brown. He had been teaching in the district since 2000, initially at Chiddix Junior High before transferring to Kingsley in 2024. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently being investigated, and no additional details are available at this time.
