Man charged with involuntary manslaughter in deadly I-87 crash in Wake County: Warrant

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh man is facing a felony charge in connection with a deadly crash in Wake County over the weekend, a warrant shows. According to a warrant filed by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Wimandre Anton Hendricks is accused of causing a crash on Interstate 87 on Sunday that killed Derick Dewayne Wright. Another person was injured in the crash. Hendricks was allegedly driving at a high speed in the rain without a driver's license or safe tires when the crash happened, according to the warrant. The warrant shows Hendricks is charged with the following: According to court records, Hendricks was given a $250,000 secured bond.
