Mail scattered on NW Indiana road due to semi crash on I-65 exit ramp
An accident involving a semi truck carrying U.S. mail caused packages to be scattered across I-65 in northwest Indiana during the Wednesday morning rush hour. The incident occurred at 4:30 a.m. on the northbound I-65 ramp leading to eastbound I80/94. Indiana State Police reported that the semi-trailer, filled with U.S. mail, split open upon crashing. Authorities have closed the northbound lanes of I-65 for investigation, diverting traffic to westbound I-94. It is estimated that cleanup will take about four hours before the road can be reopened.
